In detail
There are several – at least four – small waterfalls along the Ogre River valley in Glazskunis village. The most picturesque are Skujenieki Waterfall and Glazskunis Long Waterfall.
Glazskunis Long waterfall has three steps at a distance of some 20 meters. The first one is the best pronounced: it is some 0.7 m high, steep run over numerous smaller dolostone steps. The next two steps follow after some 18 meters and are smaller, each some 0.3 m high.
After the falls the stream enters the much larger Ogre River. One can continue the walk down the river along fragrant stands of peppermint until to a convenient cliff edge at the river, where on a warm summer day one can lay and look at the fast Ogre River flowing by.
Waterfall has formed on the Upper Devonian (Frasnian stage) sandy dolostone that belongs to the Ogre Formation.
