In detail
This waterfall is located in the beautiful Diamond Botanical Gardens. This garden is owned by the Devaux family, who received this land as a grant presented by King Louis XIV in 1713.
Fine pathways lead through the collections of rainforest flowers towards an unusual sight – a tall cliff with a bright-colored waterfall falling over it. At the base of the waterfall is a small pool that is filled with ash-gray water.
The waterfall stream comes from a geothermal area – Soufrière sulfur springs, which is located some 1.4 km upstream. Water in this stream is still warm, rich with sulfur and other minerals, and as a result, the cliff along the waterfall is laced with colorful – yellow, green purple sediments. These colors are constantly changing.
