Robinson Gorge
Temperate forest with a unique level of endemism – out of 211 local plant species 132 are endemic – e.g. met only on this island. The dense forest is formed from trees that are not met anywhere else. Hundreds of endemic species of insects.
Cania Gorge
Picturesque canyon of the Moon Creek with up to 70 m tall cliffs.
Porcupine Gorge
Impressive canyon of Porcupine Creek that is up to 150 m deep. The river has crossected diverse rocks, also – layers of coal. Interesting feature here is Pyramid – a pyramid-shaped monolithic rock.
Mulligan Falls
Beautiful jungle waterfall. Here the river slides down along a steep rock, at some places forming smaller vertical plunges. Total height of the falls is around 35 – 40 meters.
Zoe Falls
Charming waterfall – a slide of water descending in a nice pool. The area is surrounded by pristine rainforest. The lower part of the falls is some 12 m tall.
Blencoe Falls
Waterfall with several cascades. The upper one is very impressive, 90 m tall plunge, and then come numerous slides and smaller falls with a total height of 230 m. Total height of falls – around 320 m.
Herbert River Falls
This waterfall is 56 – 75 m tall and has a single plunge with several streams falling. At high water it becomes a large waterfall when all the smaller streams merge. The receding waterfall has left an impressive gorge.
Agate Creek Fossicking Area
A popular fossicking area where one can find beautiful pieces of agate. It became known around 1900 and has provided world class samples of this gemstone.
Cobbold Gorge
Spectacular, narrow chasm with some 30 m tall cliffs on both sides. The narrowest place is just 2 m wide. The stream is spring-fed and thus there always is water. This is a new geological feature, just some 10 000 years old. First visited by white people only in 1992.
Kalkani Crater
Perfectly formed volcanic cone (cinder cone) that rises some 50 m above the surroundings. Central part of the crater is strictly protected natural area with virgin vegetation.
