Three large upright boulders with petroglyphs. These carved images resemble humans. Possible time of creation: 100 BC. Nearby are burial mounds, platforms.
Pohaku Kani – bell stone
Large basalt stone, one of the best known of the bell stones of Hawaii. When the stone is struck sharply, it stone emits a low sound. In earlier times, this effect was used to announced the royal births.
Rano Raraku quarry

One of the visually most impressive megalithic monuments of the world. Rano Raraku in 1200 – 1700 AD served as a mine of moai. 397 sculptures are still located in situ, half-made, or left on the way to their destinations. Here is located the largest moai weighing 270 tons and 21.6 m tall, many times larger than any transported moai.
Mahurzari Stone Circles
Group of some 200 megalithic stone circles, most likely used for burials during the early Iron Age. In some stones have been made cup-marks.
Junapani stone circles

Group of some 300 megalithic stone circles. Burials in the circles are rich with iron items and sherds of ornamented pottery.
Cherumangadu Kudakkalparambu
Good example of the unusual “kodakkal” megaliths or umbrella stones – mushroom-like dolmens.
Hire Benakal

A visually impressive group of some 400 megalithic tombs – dolmens. These structures were built in the time period between 800 and 200 BC. The largest megalithic site in South India.
Brahmagiri megaliths
180 metres high granite outcrop with numerous megalithic structures. Settled at least since the 2nd millenium BC. Ancient cemetery with 300 stone cists, painted pottery. Stones with later inscriptions – Ashokan edicts.
Wurdi Youang stone arrangament

Here some 100 stones are arranged in an egg-shaped form about 50 meters across. It is possible that it is arranged astronomically. Nearby Aboriginal sites are 11,000 years old – thus this site also could have similar age.
