In the lush rainforest of Guadeloupe, on the slopes of Soufrière volcano has formed the most spectacular waterfall in the Lesser Antilles – Carbet Falls.

Geological wonders
Carbet Falls
Magnificent waterfall with a total height of 245 m. Fall has three steps, the tallest is 115 m high.
Gueule Grand Gouffre
Sinkhole and natural arch that have been formed by the action of sea waves. The diameter of the sinkhole is some 50 m, depth of up to 30 m.
Trou de Madame Coco
This grotto was formed by the sea wave action. The cave is not accessible, with violent waves. Site of legends.
Ecrevisses Falls
Beautiful waterfall. Water slides along a cliff in a basin, the height of falls is approximately 10 m.
Saut de la LĂ©zarde
Gorgeous, approximately 15 m tall waterfall that falls directly into a large pool.
Moreau Falls
Approximately 100 m tall waterfall with several closely located steps.
Pain de sucre, Terre de Haut
Geological curiosity – a spectacular peninsula that is formed from vertical basalt columns.
Acomat Falls
Picturesque waterfall that slides along the cliff face into a basin.
Archaeological wonders
Parc Archeologique des Roches Gravees
Garden with a collection of boulders with diverse prehistoric petroglyphs.
Grotte du Morne Rita
Many boulders in this cave contain petroglyphs, and carvings are found on the walls as well.
Abri Patate petroglyph site
Group of petroglyphs in a grotto – prehistoric shelter. Exquisite carving of the face in a stalactite.
Propriété Derussy petroglyph site
A large group of petroglyphs, on 76 boulders have been found some 258 petroglyphs. Some rocks seem to be placed in a circular pattern.
Anse des Galets petroglyph site
Group of interesting petroglyphs. Notable are two especially large cliff carvings that seem to depict a man and a woman delivering a child.
Du Plessis River petroglyph sites
In several locations, boulders along the river are adorned with prehistoric engravings. One drawing depicts a humanlike face with large ears.
Blanchard Cave
A small cave with important Pre-Columbian artifacts and remnants of extinct animals.
Architecture wonders
Fort Delgrès
Large fortification of huge historical importance. Its construction started in 1650, mostly constructed in the 18th century. Numerous fierce battles have taken place here.
Saint-Pierre-et-Saint-Paul church
Ornate catholic church in Neo-Baroque – Neo-Classical style, built in 1843.
Notre-Dame-de-Guadeloupe cathedral
Exquisite Baroque church, constructed in 1736.
Fort Napoléon
Impressive French built fortifications on a small island. Finished in 1867, never used in warfare. Served as a prison, now – a museum surrounded by botanical gardens.
